I received the product fairly quickly. The quality of the fabric is nice, very thin and light shirt for summer. One small issue is that the collar is already ripped. This was my first time wearing the shirt.

Saw these 2-packs on a Black Friday deal for like $10 each and bought 3 colors. So that’s $5 a shirt and they’re not even worth that. Pass, don’t waste your time or money, they’re miserable quality, terrible stitching, look super cheap, and I don’t expect them to last in the wash. Too good to be true, move along. The AmazonBasics mens tshirts are better value in my opinion.

I was a loyal American Apparel fan back when they were first popular. These shirts do not live up to the standards they had in their golden days. The stitching at the bottom of the tees came undone after 1 wear. The material isn’t bad, and is comparable in quality to what I remember from the old days, but the workmanship in assembling the shirts is so poor, any amateur sewing enthusiast could likely spot the flaws. If I didn’t have the ability to re-stitch these tees back together, I would’ve just returned them. Not sure if these are bootleg or not, but I definitely will think twice before buying another new-school American Apparel product on amazon again.

First couple times I ordered, I was lucky enough to get old “Made in USA“ stock. A last two times I’ve received new stock, not made in USA…and it’s horrible. Fits way smaller, thinner, cheaper material, stitching is weak and falls apart. Why Gildan can’t create a shirt that is at least comparable in fit is beyond me. It’s a completely different shirt, sizing, quality, everything. You’re better off going with something more consistent that is true to size like Next Level.

This isn’t the usual American apparel tee I used to buy. I think it’s a cotton/polyester blend, and not 100% cotton. The fabric is very soft and it fits and feels amazing, but it is fairly see through!

The material is quite soft on the skin. It fits nice and snug, the arms are a just past the mid bicep in length, and the torso is a little longer than the average T. The shoulders on the Medium fit a little more like a small, but everything else is well proportioned. Out of the two shirts I received, one of them had a 1.5″ opening where a seam came apart on the top of the shoulder. This was disappointing as I had literally just opened the bag and hadn’t even tried it on, but as these aren’t pure AA products, I can be forgiving since the shirt proportions and fit mostly represent the AA of old.

When you get right down to it, my wants from a shirt are simple:
    1. Fit properly
    2. Be comfortable. The closer to silky-smooth the better.
    3. Look nice amongst the rest of my mostly grey/dark grey wardrobe.

The material with these is pleasantly unusual; some stretch, but not a ton. This is the ultimate shirt for someone like me who abhors scratchy cotton shirts, or the sometimes worse dual-blend materials you find in others. It feels smooth, soft, and generally is perfect if what you’re mainly looking for is something to line the gap between your skin and a jacket this time of year.

It also looks nicer than a lot of similar shirts where there are sometimes clear distinctions between the threads of different material, which also contributes to their scratchiness. These? No such look. These are largely flat grey. They’re perfect, I love them, and they’re slowly replacing the rest of my shirts. I have a very boring wardrobe.

    Comfortable though.

This is a 2-pack of the triblend tees, which are still great, but it’s NOT the track shirt! I have a few of the track shirts and the tags clearly state they are track tees (as another review pointed out and photographed), these shirts state they are triblend tees. The material is still soft and comfy, but not the same as the track shirt. The track shirts are VERY slinky, breathable, and tissue-paper thin. The triblend shirts are a little more heavy in terms of fabric/weight. These triblends are still good, but if you want a cheaper, just as good triblend, check out Bella + Canvas apparel.

Comfortable basic tri blend shirts, okay for the price. Material quality if fine but the stitching quality is trash, stitching is already falling apart at the shoulder after wearing them once, there’s a bout a 2 inch whole now on the back of my shoulder.

Look, I don’t know why some of the other reviews claim these American Apparel 50/50 shirts either aren’t the real thing or aren’t the same original quality. I’ve been wearing American Apparel clothing for over 13yrs and these shirts are 100% legit/authentic and are absolutely the same soft, comfortable, long lasting high quality t-shirts….period. I’ve purchased 4 different colors so far and have been beyond stoked. I am 6ft 205lbs with athletic build and purchased these shirts in an XL and they fit perfect. Machine wash cold and dry on delicate/wool/super low and they will last forever.

This is hands down the softest shirt I own. American Apparel is known for its shirts to shrink, so I am curious how it will hold up. I love tri-blend shirts, and typically they don’t shrink up as much as cotton shirts.

Not True American Apparel made in LA
This was made by Gildan Active wear in Honduras.
Apparently the original owner of AA bankrupt the company and sold it to Hold an.
Its soft but different compared to OG AA tri -blend

Sadly American Apparel’s signature 50/50 is officially no more. This fabric feels like some terribly Hanes tshirt you buy at Target. Also, the fit is insanely small.

I have tons and tons of the 50/50s at home, all in Medium. These that I ordered are a joke.

    Sad times.
